Watermelon Island is an old Vietnamese legend about perseverance, integrity, and hard work. An Tiem, an adopted son remain true to his beliefs after being banished to a desolate island through a misunderstanding by his adopted father, King Hùng Vuong III of Vietnam. With the help of the Watermelon An Tiem and his father are able to reunite. This animation has a moral to a story as well as the explaining why the Vietnamese culture have watermelon seeds on the day of Tet, the Vietnamese New Year.
